Privacy Policy

How Anchored Solutions collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Purpose

Anchored Solutions ("Anchored Solutions", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. It applies to this website, our enquiry and contact forms, and the services we provide.

For the purposes of POPIA, Anchored Solutions — a sole proprietorship owned by Maxine Merrifield — is the responsible party. Any questions about this policy or your personal information can be directed to our Information Officer using the contact details in section 10.

Personal information — information relating to an identifiable, living natural person and, where applicable, an identifiable existing juristic person, as defined in POPIA.
Data subject — the individual or organisation to whom the personal information relates.
Processing — any operation concerning personal information, including collection, receipt, recording, storage, updating, use, distribution, sharing, alteration or destruction.
Responsible party — Anchored Solutions, which determines the purpose and means for processing personal information.
Operator — a third party who processes personal information on behalf of Anchored Solutions under a contract or mandate.
Consent — any voluntary, specific and informed expression of will whereby a data subject agrees to the processing of personal information.
POPIA — the Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013, of South Africa.

4. Information we collect

Anchored Solutions may collect the following information:

  • Full name
  • Contact details (email address, telephone number)
  • Company or organisation details
  • Job title or position
  • Information provided through enquiries, forms, surveys or consultations

We only collect information necessary to provide our services, respond to enquiries, manage relationships and improve our offerings.

5. How we use personal information

Personal information may be used to:

  • Respond to enquiries and requests
  • Provide consulting, coaching and training services
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders
  • Manage contracts and business relationships
  • Send newsletters, updates or marketing communications, where consent has been provided
  • Improve our website, services and user experience

We rely on your consent, the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests and compliance with the law as our lawful bases for processing. By submitting our contact form you consent to us processing your personal information for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to any legal or contractual restrictions.

6. Sharing of information

Anchored Solutions will not sell personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who assist in delivering our services
  • Professional advisors such as accountants, auditors or legal advisors
  • Regulatory authorities where required by law
  • Training, coaching or assessment partners where necessary for programme delivery

All third parties are required to protect personal information and process it responsibly.

7. Information security

Anchored Solutions takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, disclosure, alteration and destruction. While every effort is made to protect information, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Cookies and website analytics

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not use third-party analytics, third-party fonts or social media tracking pixels. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, for security and reliability purposes.

If we introduce analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required by POPIA, ask for your consent first. You can adjust your browser settings at any time to manage cookie preferences.

9. Retention of information

Personal information will only be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable legislation and business requirements.

10. Your rights & how to contact us

In terms of POPIA, you have the right to request access to your personal information, request correction of inaccurate information, object to certain processing activities, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, request deletion of information where legally permissible, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

11. Hosting and cross-border transfers

This website and its enquiry forms are hosted by a service provider whose servers may be located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection as required by section 72 of POPIA.

The legislation applicable to this policy includes, but is not limited to, the Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Promotion of Access to Information Act, No. 2 of 2000 (PAIA).

This policy is reviewed at least once a year, and may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
